If you are an old player or are reading an outdated guide, you’ll know that previously you had to purchase various plots of land before you could start to develop property in them. The land types in the previous version were: Abandoned Lot Commercial Block Prime Downtown Lot Beachfront Property Make Video Game Testing Your Job And get Paid $50 - 100 per hour >> The Mafia Wars Properties that you could previously develop were: Louie’s Deli Mafia Mike’s - requires Abandoned Lot Rent House - requires Abandoned Lot Italian Restaurant - requires Abandoned Lot Apartment Complex - requires Commercial Block Valu-Mart - requires Commercial Block Marina Tourist Shops - requires Beachfront Property Office Building - requires Prime Downtown Lot 5-Star Hotel - requires Beachfront Property Mega Casino - requires Prime Downtown Lot You could purchase as much land and property so long as you have enough cash and had to collect rent on them individually. You also had to purchase protection in order to prevent your property from being robbed by other players. In the last update, Mafia Wars properties in New York has been simplified with a snazzier flash interface. Now you no longer have to purchase undeveloped space and own only one of each property. Instead, you are able to upgrade each property and collect on them several times a day (represented by a progress bar). The amount of money you collect from each property depends on the number of times you upgrade them. You are also no longer able to sell your properties. Older players with existing Mafia Wars Properties will have their properties transferred to the equivalent upgrades. For example if you had 2 casinos previously, your casino will now start with 2 upgrades. If you had undeveloped spaces without any property in them, they would have been automatically sold off and the cash deposited in your bank. The list of properties available for you to upgrade have also been refreshed.
